5-day National Academy / GB Training Camp - Summer 2022

 

Some of our young polo players attended the 5-day National Academy residential camp at Millfield School, Somerset last month.

 

AJ, Stan and Tula (Exeter), Darcey and Sam (Taunton/Barnstaple/Exeter) all worked exceedingly hard, spending hours physically training in and out of the pool as well as attending team building sessions and talks about nutrition and fitness.

 

The National coaches were extremely pleased with their progress, commenting that "they worked hard in the pool...and their attitude and behaviour out of the water was exemplary for a group of young adults who were together for the first time". They also said the players "did everything that was asked of them and more" and should therefore "be very proud of their hard work".

 

All our Exeter players admitted to being exhausted by the end of the five days but came away having improved their skills and knowledge as well as having made new friends within their squads 🙂

 

As part of the same 5-day training camp, the GB junior squads also attended which included Reuben Powell (Exeter) and Nyah Tomlinson (Taunton / Exeter).
