Congratulations to our U14’s for triple wins at the Devonport Friendly tournament. And thanks to Devonport for the invite and organising. The first game was a closely fought battle against Taunton, finishing 4-3 to Exeter. A very nervous and shaky starter game for Exeter, but understandably so due to not having full training sessions since mid-February. The squad got off to a good start with a convincing 18-10 win vs Luxembourg, followed by a tight 13-13 draw vs tournament runners up Lithuania which placed England into the 5-8 place categorisation tournament by 1 goal difference. Our new U17s team played their very first Devon League match of the season, away at Newton Abbot. Against a much more mature and experienced team, in a difficult, half-shallow pool, coach Andy Saulter, was pleased with how his Exeter youngsters acquitted themselves.
