Our new U17s team played their very first Devon League match of the season, away at Newton Abbot. Against a much more mature and experienced team, in a difficult, half-shallow pool, coach Andy Saulter, was pleased with how his Exeter youngsters acquitted themselves. The men’s national league team will be back in Division 2 next year after two close games in the final weekend of the 21/22 competition. With a young team of an average age of just 19 and three 16-year-olds in the team, they came up against two experienced teams who had both played in division one in previous seasons.
