JUNIOR SQUAD (JS)

Entry criteria

  • Excellent attitude & behaviour at both training & competitions
  • Display appropriate development of swimming skills (stroke & transitions)
  • To have competed in all designated competitions as directed
  • Attend all the weekly sessions available plus one land training session
  • Respect for coaching staff
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good lane discipline
  • Punctuality
  • Hunger to train and improve
  • Age between 8 years to 12 years

Training aims & objectives

Decision makers

The Head Coach, or Assistant Head Coach will be accountable for all decisions relating to movement between groups. Each decision will be made in consultation with the relevant group coach. Their decision will be final.

Promotion to the next level

Feltham has a continuous assessment policy. Swimmers can be moved at any time provided they fulfil the exit / entry criteria, have the right attitude and are willing to commit to the training required.

INTERMEDIATE SQUAD(IS)

Entry criteria

  • Excellent attitude & behaviour at both training & competitions
  • Display appropriate development of swimming skills (stroke & transitions)
  • To have competed in all designated competitions as directed
  • Attend all the weekly sessions available plus one land training session
  • Respect for coaching staff
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good lane discipline
  • Punctuality
  • Hunger to train and improve
  • Age between 10 years to 14 years

Training aims & objectives

  • Variety of aerobic/endurance swimming sets introduced into the programme
  • Attend all sessions as directed by the Group coach
  • Use the pace clock independently
  • Develop land conditioning programme
  • Have all training equipment (fins, kickboard, pull buoy, club hat & drink bottle)
  • Attend Land training with correct equipment (Skipping rope and roll mat)
  • Participation in competitions as directed by the group coach including open meets and team galas
  • When at competitions club hat, black costume/trunks, club t-shirt and black shorts
