Glenalbyn Swimming Club is a competitive swimming club and is affiliated to Swim Ireland and has been awarded the Clubmark quality standard.
We are currently operating out of swimming pools in South County Dublin: Dlr Monkstown and Loughlinstown, Castlepark, Blackrock, St. Augustines, Tallaght & UCD.
The Club's active training programme operates for the ten-month period from September to June - with a tailored program in July for athletes who have qualified for Irish Age Groups and Irish Open Championships.
Swimmers will have learned to swim 25 metres before joining.
They may not be competent in all strokes but will quickly develop these and progress to the more competitive squads.
Competition usually begins at Dolphin level and upwards and suitable levels of competing are recommended by all Squad Coaches. Senior Squads will be competing to progress to represent the Club at National Level
We offer high quality coaching and stroke technique for our various squads. We aim to ensure that all our swimmers improve their swimming skills and have the opportunity of progression to competitive swimming enabling all to achieve their goals both personally and as part of a team.
The Club is run by an elected Committee and is a non-profit club
Fixed trials are held each year in January and May/June. Just check our website and facebook page closer to the time for details of exact times and locations.
