Our Team

We have a whole host of coaches and teachers with varying swimming teaching, coaching and lifesaving qualifications and experience. Supported by an administration team who deal with all Learn to Swim paperwork, competition entries, and all day-to-day routine elements that help the whole club operate smoothly.

PRESIDENT

Carole Penfold MBE

President

Carole joined Jersey Swimming Club in the 1970s. Julie became an Island Champ in 1979 when she won 4 out of 5 of the available events. Carole was Vice President in 1986 but took a break from membership when her daughters stopped swimming.
She has seen the club move to the Aqua splash and to Langford and has been involved in the growth of lessons. She became President in 2009. Carole maintains that the growth of the Club is down to the excellent team of coaches and teachers who are all dedicated to the sport and says "Having been founded in 1865 it is the duty of all members to pass the thriving club on to the next generation".

Bill Davies

Andy Aird

Assistant Coach

As well as coaching Squads Andy is also a Gymnastic coach so has gained a huge amount of experience coaching children in these two highly technical sports. Andy generally works with Junior competitive swimmers but also takes the Dolphin lanes at our late Family session on Fridays at Aqua splash.

Ailie Brown

Team Manager

As one of our most experienced teachers and now a qualified coach, Ailie finds herself working across many areas of the club in a teaching or coaching role. Ailie is also Team Manager - in charge of competitions. This involves liaising with ASA, event licensing, signing swimmers up for events and ensuring everything is above board, then relaying all information to all relevant club members.
