Jersey Open Water Festival
Over the Summer Holidays we host the Jersey Open Water Festival and what an event it was this year! The choice to hold it in various locations seems to be a hit with the swimmers, even if it does prove quite a challenge for the organisers, however we always pull it off in style.
This year events took place at St Catherine’s, Bouley Bay and Havre des Pas and also included the three JSC events, the Round St Aubins Fort, Green Island to Havre des Pas and our oldest event, the Castle Harbour (which is taking place on Sept 18th}.
There is a mix of distances with 5k and 3k for the serious swimmers with 2.5k and 1k to mix it up a bit, there is also a 3x 500 relay. Lots of people turn out to kayak or to spectate and a there is a great atmosphere at each event.

The organising team of Andy Truscott, Andy Aird, Carole Penfold, Ailie Brown, Hayley Butlin and Elaine Travers would sincerely like to thank everyone that made this event a great success. We have already begun planning next year’s festival.
