Swimming Clubs

Our Learn to Swim programme runs on Mondays & Wednesdays at Langford, and during our Family Friday Session at Aquasplash. We usually take children from 4yrs but if they are younger and can understand a class situation, we are happy to give them an opportunity to learn to swim earlier.

Our lessons are run in stages and swimmers will progress through from one to the next. This may mean changing times as they improve but we do try to offer a good selection of all stages at as many times as possible. All swimmers have an opportunity to remain with the same teacher throughout.

Dolphins

These sessions are for children who wish to begin training to compete.

  • Levels 7&8 Swim England Learn to Swim Programme.
  • Swimmers will be competent in all 4 strokes

Dolphins are coached by Sam Kemp and Les Jewitt-Ward, all qualified in teaching and coaching and each have first-hand competitive swimming experience.

If you are interested in competition swimming and think you have what it takes to train once or twice each week, please contact us to arrange an assessment.

Junior Squad

The Junior Squad headed up by Andy Aird, Assistant Coach and qualified swimming teacher. Andy is also a qualified gymnastic coach so brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of how young people learn and develop in a different arena to our swimming. Also, Ailie Brown who is Team Manager who also teaches and coaches in all areas of the Club.

The Junior Squad is the steppingstone for young swimmers coming from ‘Dolphins’ and moving into ‘Senior’ Squad. It is a necessary stage as most of the children in this group are young teenagers and need specialist training to help them develop their skills to eventually meet the demands of Senior Squad training.
