TRIALS

We run trials every 3 to 4 weeks. Please email the trials coordinator to book a place.  Unfortunately at the moment we cannot trial swimmers that are over 8 years old unless they have Swim England registered competition times with another club and before asking you in, the trials coordinator may ask for information about your swimmer to assess whether we are likely to have space for them in one of our groups/squads.

About our squads

Many parents would like to know about our squad structure and how the club works before they come for a trial. Alongside the information below, it is also worth browsing the Calendar page and the Squad structure page under About Us..

  • Academy sessions are for beginners up to the lower competition level and run once a week on Sunday mornings at Dulwich Prep. This group also incorporates older children (9-13 yrs) who are not ready or do not have a desire to move into competitive swimming but would still like once a week lessons. We should be able to cater for every level, but if your swimmer is keen on entering a competition squad, the places may be limited and restricted to those that are more able for their age-group.
  • Junior competition level swimmers are in Sharks up to Bronze squad. From Dolphins upwards they should start to enter competitions and all in these squads are expected to attend the twice yearly Club Championships.
  • Senior competition level swimmers are in Silver up to Performance squad. These swimmers have extra training at the beginning and end of the season (whcih starts in September and ends in July) and they are working towards County, Regional and National competitions.
  • Our non-competitive squads are Otters and Club. These are for swimmers that do not compete externally but still want the fitness benefits and improvement of technique that you get from a 1 hour session, 1 or 2 times a week.

Joining Procedure

Once you have received an email inviting you to join and indicating your group/squad, you will be asked to register through the website.
