Brompton SC Meet Results and the ISL Comes Back to the BBC

Bram Montgomery

Over the past few weeks Brompton SC swimmers from all squads have taken to the pools to race, some of the first time in months.

2nd Hammersmith Invite- 12&Under Sessions

Despite the half term holiday, we had almost 75 of our 12&Under swimmers competing against Ealing SC in a friendly licensed competition that gave our young swimmers the opportunity to chase County times, but more importantly to see how much they've improved since getting back into the pool in the Summer; judging by the amount of yellow (PB's!!) on the results we can safely say the work most of the swimmers are putting into their training is paying off. Congrats to all the swimmers who took part in this fun event, and a massive thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help on the day.

2021 London Region Winter Championships

26 Brompton swimmers took part in what was for most of the swimmers their first high level competition in almost 2 years. Although the extended time out of the water over the past 18 months has made it hard for some of the swimmers to find their feet (or fins), all of our swimmers were able to come away with some positive results and can look to continue to work towards regaining their fitness. Although not everyone swam as well as they would have liked, overall our swimmers hit over 50% lifetime bests and we had a 5 swimmers bring home multiple medals (George, Mehmet, Pixie, Kynan, and Balthazar) helping to lead the club a 9th place finish overall. Mehmet, George, and Kynan were joined by Olivia in breaking numerous Brompton SC Club Records.

ISL Playoffs Live on the BBC Sport Red Buttom, on-line, and the BBC Sport App

As we mentioned in a previous post, Brompton SC swimmer Isabella Hindley helped her DC Trident Team qualify for this season's ISL Playoffs where the top 8 teams face off in a series of intense quad-meets over the next 3 weeks. Bella's team will be competing in the first match which starts tonight at 6pm, and continues tomorrow evening at the same time. You can follow Bella's progress, (she will race in the 4x100 Free relay, the 50m Free, and the 4x100 Medley relay tonight!) and catch all the exciting racing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings via the various BBC Sport platforms
