Our 12 & overs completed a very successful weekend for North Ayrshire swimmers in Linwood following on from a great day for our 11 & unders. These meets were a little different from normal in that they included an afternoon and evening session instead of a morning session. The swimmers were asked to write down their process goals for each race when they arrived poolside and all the swimmers were great at talking through their race plan beforehand and focusing on the key points during the race. The swimmers support...

Gala Report SAST "Murdoch's" Mini Meet Sunday 22nd January 2023 We had 20 of our younger swimmers ranging from SwimSTARS, Potential, Age Group and Junior Performance squads all attend the meet at the Citadel in Ayr. For many of them this was their first time back racing since before the festive break and it was a great meet to start off 2023. The swimmers engaged very well with their process goal setting, with all the swimmers having goals in place before attending the meet. This was useful as it allowed...

All our North Ayrshire swimmers were fantastic at the recent National League Round 1. This meet is short and fast with lots of relays. Some of our swimmers were racing in 6 events in less than 2 hours. We were racing teams from Inverclyde, Kilmarnock and Scotia . Teams from across Scotland are doing the same with Scottish Swimming collating the times and creat ing their National League. With lots of races, this meet is all about doing your best in every race for the team. However, there were some...

14 year old Fraser Cowie was our sole representative at this meet, choosing 4 races on the Sunday of the meet. This was the first time Fraser had stayed away from home before a meet so was great experience for him. His first race was the 200m IM where his goal was to swim his breaststroke split faster than he did at SNAGS and in managing this, he also qualified for the 14/15 years final. Fraser then managed personal bests in his next 2 races, 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke....

The first Scottish National Age Group Championships in 3 years were held at Tollcross between 13-17 April with North Ayrshire Swimming having 9 individual representatives and a further 9 swimmers attending for relays. 3 years is a long time in a swimmers career so our swimmers were super excited to be back racing at the national level. For many of our swimmers, this was their first opportunity racing at this level and their swims did not disappoint. After the 5 days of racing, North Ayrshire swimmers came home with 5...
