Tom Jobling (P2) and Matthew Cairns (P1) have been selected to attend the Swim England National Talent Development program! Congratulations to Matthew, Tom and to their coaches Ben and Mike on this exciting news. The boys will attend three, one-day training camps in Huddersfield over the next few months, these are orientated around stroke / skill development and education; and act as the first platform on the Swim England National Pathway! We wish them all the very best.

The British and English National Championships, which take place in July and August, are the curtain and final event of every competitive swimming season; the 11 months of training, travelling and hard work all lead into this finale. The 2018/2019 season saw a club record number of representatives at the National Championships with Matthew Cairns and Thomas Graham competing at both British and English events, being joined by Ben Gilchrist and JJ Robins at the English event. At the start of the year we announced that Durham City’s Charity of the Year would be the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The Club will be working throughout the year to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and the tireless and fantastic work that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust does. So far we have sold some pancake mixes in jars in support of the charity, asked for donations to the CF Trust for copies of photos taken at our presentation night and we are planning sponsored events and fundraising efforts to raise money across...

A very successful and enjoyable 2-day Gala was held at Freeman’s Quay in Durham.  We were delighted to have athletes, coaches and supporters from 9 Swimming Clubs in attendance.   The weekend saw some great (and at times nail-biting) races, many new Personal Best times set, medals won and the cheers were fabulous to hear, with team support evident across the weekend in the pool and outside it.  NESS Swimwear attended to help equip athletes from their fantastic range of swimwear and accessories.  The cakes, sweet chest, second hand books,...

A small group of fabulous volunteers spent 4 hours in B&M Bargains in Gilesgate packing bags.  They raised an incredible £398.98 for the Club!!   Well done and many thanks to all involved and to those who kindly donated.  Thank you B&M for having us.
