This morning we had the Durham City Winter Gala held at the stunning Freemans Quay Leisure Centre in Durham’s city centre. This meet is a great opportunity for some of our younger membership to lead the way and show us what they can do over 50m of out and out speed. N&Ds Report February 2018 Durham City Amateur Swimming and Water Polo Club have had a very successful start to 2018.  Every year, the Northumberland and Durham Swimming Association Championships, known as the “N&Ds” take place in the 50m pool at Sunderland Aquatic Centre.  The youngest athletes are just 9/10 years old, and every participant must qualify (achieve or exceed a target time) for every event in which they compete.  Several Durham City swimmers made their N&D debut this year, whilst others were returning to the event. Be a foodie   Our Performance Squad spend a huge amount of time training to be the very best.  To do that its important if not crucial that they feed their bodies to prepare them for the hard work to come.  This winter Durham City made links with Youth Sport Nutrition to see that our athletes were given the best possible advice on what to eat and when to eat it to support their training and racing.  There was some great feedback from the session and lots of lessons learned. ...


A team of 33 swimmers went down to Billingham Forum to compete in the first heat of Junior League on Sunday.  It was really good to see lots of newer swimmers, alongside those who've  participated before, giving us a full Team this year.     Overall we came 2nd with a score of 183!   All swimmers really got into the competition and were looking out for those who were more nervous.  It was great to have so much support, with a record number of parents on the bus and...
