Dear Parents, Supporters and Coaches,

It is with great appreciation that I would like to welcome Ange Wilkin as our new Treasurer for the swimming club. Ange will work with Carol Gardner over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transfer of processes and accounts. The work that Carol has put in over the past 10 years with the swimming club has been truly admirable and she will be missed as a respected voice at the committee and executive committee level. We all welcome Ange to the role, Ange has already been supporting us and has previous knowledge and experience she will provide the stability needed to drive the club further developmentally. All we ask is for patience and prompt responses to amending standing orders or making payments to reduce the work load.

As a committee we are looking to set up a ’sub-committee structure” this is to expand and develop volunteers and spread the effort of growing the club in a sustainable approach. This is inline with the constitutional regulations (7.7). By enlarging our volunteers under the direction of existing members, we feel that we can harness the positive attitude of parents and supporters  all of whom come with diverse experiences and expertise, support and passion that can only drive the club forwards.

We have a number of roles (see below, we would like parents to consider. If you feel that you can afford a little time whilst watching the swimmers train to support us with any of the roles, full supportive or additional training will be offered. As a club we recognise it is vital to invest in those who undertake additional roles. If you are interested

Assistant Finance Officer (Non Committee Role)

Roughly 3 hours per month of time commitment

  • Part of the Finance sub committee (Chaired by the Treasurer)
  • Work with the treasurer and membership secretary to provide support with reconciliation of accounts and invoices
  • Support the treasurer in checking standing order payments
  • Support the competitions secretary in collecting payments for galas and ensuring gala fees are paid

Competitions Secretary (Non Committee Role)

Roughly 3 hours per month of time commitment

  • Part of the Events/Competitions Team (Chaired by the Secretary)
  • Set up gala information events on the club website (online submission form)
  • Generate entry files for external galas for Head Coach approval
  • Collate entries and payments for submission to the Finance team
  • Support the Executive Committee and Fund-raising sub-committee in hosting Open Events.

Records Officer (Non Committee Role)

Roughly 2 hours per month of time commitment

  • Part of the Events/Competitions Team (Chaired by the Secretary)
  • Import gala results into the system
  • Check if club records have been broken
  • Ensure notice board has up-to-date records lists available
