There are, typically, 3 routes into the club:

Straight from swimming lessons

If you have reached Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 7, then we would normally take you into our Academy programme. Typically, you would be under the age of 11 and you would be looking to improve your stroke techniques and swim skills before progressing to our junior squads. 

Moving from another swimming club

Older swimmers (11+) are welcome and entry into our squads will depend on ability and previous training. Some may need further technique refinement and will join our Academy or junior squads. Others, with greater experience and skills, will slot into one of our more advanced squads.

Joining as a Masters swimmer

Masters swimming is for anyone over the age of 18 not in any of our senior performance squads. You may be a triathlete, an ex-competitive swimmer or you may just enjoy training with like-minded people. There is a programme of competitions dedicated to Masters swimmers, including Staffs County Championships, should you wish to compete.
