Last night saw another outsanding performance from the Tudor League team taking first place in Round 4 with a whopping 280 points! There were twelve1st places, thirteen 2nd places and ten 3rd places and we had more 1st, 2nd and 3rd places than any other team competing! After back to back victories we are now outright leaders of the table 2 league points and 24 gala points clear of 2nd place Bexley with just one more round to go. Well done Crawley Gala Swimmers ! Orpington Ojays saw some really tough competition this weekend at K2 Crawley. With 67 clubs participating and with many swimmers there to chase National qualification times, our 26 swimmers performed amazingly well against some of the country’s fastest swimmers. We came home with 3 golds, 7 silvers, 5 bronzes, 24 individual PBs and some gutsy performances with everyone giving it their all in the usual Ojays style. Congratulations to the team for taking the top spot in last night’s Tudor League round 3! Expectations were high following on from our 2nd place result in round 2 and with some brilliant swims we able to secure first place overall. With 10 wins and 16 second places, it was our strongest performance to date, and with the support of our team captains and an unparalleled team spirit there was no stopping team Ojays! A fantastic weekend for Orpington Ojays and the 51 swimmers that competed at the EDSC and DDSC Fireworks gala. With a number of our swimmers also away at the Winter Regionals we still had an amazing turn out with some athletes even taking part in both events. There were some fantastic swims with many personal bests smashed out of the park and it was particularly nice to welcome some of our younger members to their first ever gala and do so well. Congratulations to our 14 years and under swimmers who took part in the Kent Development Meet this weekend! It was fantastic to see so many swimmers with beaming smiles on their faces and some amazing swims and PBs - they really did the club proud.
