Kent Development Meeting 2022
Last weekend, on 22nd/23rd of October 2022 a number of our younger swimmers attended the Kent Development Meeting at Medway Park, Gillingham. This year it was a very relaxed gala, with less participating swimmers than usual and with Orpington Ojays taking 17 swimmers. It was a fantastic event as usual, with lots of good performances and hopefully some of our swimmers will have done well enough to get selected for the Kent Development camp next year.
We had 27 medals in total and a huge congratulations to those swimmers who swam PBs
Our notable swimmers who took home gold, silver and bronze medals were:-
Daisy Draper - 2nd 100m Fly
Ellie Gibbs -2nd 100m Fly, 3rd 50m Fly
Elliot Botten-Vanacore - 1st 100m Breast
Finola Barker - 2nd 50m Free, 2nd 50m Fly, 3rd 50m Back
Fotios Nikolopoulos - 3rd 50m Back, 1st 50m Free
Pragnya Vutukuri -2nd 100m Fly
A number of parents also stepped up to help with run the gala in various roles and we were one of only 2 clubs commended for their support by the Kent ASA, so a really big thank you to:-
