Tadpoles
Tadpoles are lessons for the next generation of young swimmers from ages 5-10 years who are looking to improve their stroke technique and who have a curiosity for the world of competitive swimming. The maximum age to join Tadpoles1 is 8 and for the higher levels of Tadpoles the maximum age is 9.
Lessons run all year round alongside our competitive squad training programmes. At Orpington Ojays we provide high quality, fully structured, progressive teaching together with a varied programme of learning experiences.
Training is delivered by fully qualified coaches and swimming teachers whom enable swimmers to reach their full potential in a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment.
Tadpole's squads aim to complete the Swim England Stages 5 and above, where strokes will be refined and concepts of competitive swimming are introduced with the opportunity to take part in fun galas and club league events swimming against other swimming clubs.
- The Learn to Swim Stage Awards are divided into progressive stages. They make up the core, national syllabus of learning to swim for primary school aged children
- They are designed to reward your child for their development of the essential aquatic skills they need to be confident, competent and safe in the water
- Each of the Learn to Swim Stage Awards has a list of clear outcomes that need to be completed in order to gain each Award
Tadpoles swimmers progress into Bronze squad where swimmers will get to compete and take part in club championships, leagues and visit other pools with the club to compete in open swimming galas.
Training sessions are held on a Sunday in the Walnuts Leisure Centre Main Pool
