WELCOME TO PORTSMOUTH NORTHSEA SWIMMING CLUB

Get involved in volunteering

Volunteers form the backbone and heart of Portsmouth Northsea family. They support the running of club events/activities and they help ensure swimming grows and thrives in our local area.

Our volunteers are our biggest asset and their contribution is invaluable.

Why should I get involved?

Volunteering is hugely rewarding! It is a great way to develop yourself and others, to meet people, and to get involved in and give back to your local community.

Supporting our swimmers is critical to both the success of the club and our swimmers.

MEET VOLUNTEERS

There are many ways and roles in which to support the club to run meets:

  • Announcer

OFFICIALS

During a competition being a timekeeper, or qualified judge gives you several advantages:-

  • A real sense of supporting your swimmer and others in living their dreams
  • Knowledge that times obtained are true, and fully within the FINA rules
  • Poolside view of the competition
  • No fees to pay to spectate

Starting as an official is simple, if you can press a button on a stop watch and write down numbers, then it is very easy to qualify as a timekeeper.

Clubs need officials at every level from time keeper to referee. There is no pressure to climb the ladder and become a referee, but if you want to then the club will support you all the way!

For more information on becoming an official email our Officials co-ordinator on [email protected]
