This squad is for the younger swimmers (7-9) and is used as an introduction to a more competitive environment. Our programme runs in accordance with British Swimming’s Long Term Athlete Development strategy which at this stage involves interesting, varied and structured sessions that are predominately based on improving stroke technique as well as agility, balance, co-ordination and speed.

This squad also compliments those swimmers who already attend our Super Star Squad lessons as it allows a faster progression working alongside our qualified ASA level 1 and 2 teachers.

Entry to the squad is by trial and swimmers need to be able to swim 25M on their front and 25M on their back to be considered and is age appropriate. The Piranhas train two sessions per week. Swimmers also learn the basics of training and competing (which they can do so from the age of 9) and will be considered to represent the club in galas at the appropriate stage of their development.
