Thirty swimmers from clubs across Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Hampshire got an early Christmas treat by attending the Team Bath AS Freestyle Development Clinic with World Champion and Commonwealth Medallist Calum Jarvis in December. Team Bath AS were victorious yesterday at Round 3 of the National Arena Swimming League, winning the Round 3 Gala in Newport with a total of 331 points, becoming overall winners of Western Region Division 1 and earning promotion into the Premier Division next season. Swimmers from the Team Bath AS Academy Swimming Program enjoyed a Winter Fun Gala hosted by Norton Radstock on 7 December. The Gala provided an opportunity for swimmers to take part in a competitive team event. Both swimmers and parents could experience the excitement and thrill of competitive swimming. The Swim Wales Winter National Short Course Championships 2019 took place at the National Pool Swansea 29 November-1 December 2019. Four Welsh Home-Nation Team Bath AS swimmers competed at the event bringing home four medals for the Team. As we move towards the Olympic year, Stephanie Millward’s preparations continued last weekend as she competed at the National Para-swimming Championships in Manchester (30 November/1December 2019). In the women’s MC 100m Backstroke Steph won Silver and with a time of 1:06.01 in the 100m Freestyle she earned 785 points to take Bronze.
