It's a big two weeks of swimming for Team Bath AS

Webmaster TeamBath AS

Today marks the first of two significant national swimming championships for which swimmers from Team Bath AS (TBAS) have qualified. First up is the British Summer Championships 2022, at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, from 22 to 28 July.

It's the return of the competition for the first time in three years where Britain's top young swimmers are competing. A big end-of-season meet, the British Summer Championships provides an opportunity for hundreds of swimmers to start their journey towards senior medal-winning performances. The 24 top-ranked swimmers in each event and each age group attend, a tremendous achievement for our TBAS swimmers. We are also excited that TBAS has a qualified boys' relay team competing for the first time in many years.

Our celebrated TBAS swimmers competing are:

  • Max Adams
  • Katherine Butcher
  • Mark Edmundson
  • Rue Fowler
  • Laura-Ann Marshman
  • Lawrence Martindale
  • Oliver Saunders
  • Niamh Ward
  • Oliver Watts
  • Poppy Williams

Quick off the back of the British Nationals is the second event, the Swim England Summer Championships, the most significant domestic event of the year.

From 5 to 9 August, at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, top-ranked swimmers affiliated to a Swim England Club who have qualified are invited to compete across different age groups in a range of events.

We're sending a strong team of Team Bath AS swimmers:

  • Max Adams
  • Edward Davey
  • Mark Edmundson
  • Lawrence Martindale
  • Finlay Saunders
  • Oliver Saunders
  • Emily Shuttleworth
  • Oliver Watts
  • Poppy Williams

Many congratulations to Ed who has qualified for the English Nationals for the first time.

We're proud of every Team Bath AS swimmer competing in the next few weeks and wish you all the best of luck.
