CWSC Wins 7 Top Trophies at the Middlesex County Champs!

CWSC Membership

After three busy weekends of racing, our juniors and seniors literally swam their way to success at the Middlesex County Champs!

In the midst of early cycle training, the swimmers dug deep, battled on and made some huge jumps forward from their personal bests and County rankings. Across the three weekends, the swimmers earned 7 historic overall trophies with Maya Orfanidis and Michael Ares being awarded their own top junior achievements. The trophies won by CWSC:

- Bob Glazier Memorial Trophy (Boys - team scores)

- County Cup (12 and over boys - team scores)

- Junior Wilkinson Sword Boys (Michael Ares)

- Junior Wilkinson Sword Girls (Maya Orfanidis)

- The Walton Trophy (11 and under - combined team scores)

- Dave Barnes Memorial Trophy (Maya Orfanidis)

- Alan Lawrence Memorial Trophy (Nick Finch)

The above is not inclusive of the Junior and Senior trophies won by the swimmers who won their individual events - they are in abundance. Numerous County records were also broken by Nick Finch, Adam Wong, Edward Marcal Whittles and Henry Gray.

It's a shame that the junior and senior champs were divided as CW is a big united team. What was extremely pleasing was watching the results come in from the juniors on the first weekend and then the seniors knowing that they had to back up their success.

Well done to everyone that took part and all coaches and volunteers. The weekends set everyone up for a solid second cycle of racing.
