Update on COVID -19 Tier 2

Leah Pullen

Dear members,

We are pleased to inform you that your swimming will not be affected by the Tier 2 restriction that was placed on London over the weekend. This is because we operate an organised sport which adheres to social distancing guidelines.

If we move to Tier 3 we will advise you of any changes, if appropriate.

As we move into the half-term period and also with the recent COVID alert changes in our area, we wish to remind you of the rules we need to follow:

  • Any swimmers taking a half-term break outside of the UK must follow the relevant quarantine periods upon their return. Please check the government website for the current restrictions and only return to swimming when you have isolated for the necessary period.
  • All attendees are required to wear face coverings, wash hands &  make space where relevant at all venues.
  • Inform the club if isolating/testing positive

To avoid the full lockdown of the leisure centres and pools we must adhere to the following rules.

1. Do not go swimming if unwell/injured, if unrelated to COVID ( No Symptoms) - notify the lead coach to clarify absence and alleviate any concern.

2. Return to swimming when well again.

3. Do not go to a training venue if you currently have any symptoms or have been in contact with a known COVID-19 case in the last 14 days.

4. Arrange COVID -19 test. Notify ESC COVID officer when the test date has been arranged on [email protected]

5. Don’t attend any sessions until the results are known.

6. If the result proves positive – you must isolate for 10 days from the date of the positive test along with any sibling swimmers who must isolate for 14 days.

7. Result proves negative, return to swimming (notify coach you are returning).

8. ESC Coach will identify ‘bubble’ and notify relevant members

If you have any covid19 related questions or concerns please email  - [email protected]
