Ealing Triathletes at the 2017 Brighton Marathon

Weekend Round up April 17th 2016

Ealing Triathletes take on the London League!

A 10 strong group of Ealing Triathletes took part in the first event in the London League Senior Series on Sunday 17th April. The Kingfisher Aquathlon in Morden Park is a swim/run race with a 400m pool swim followed by a tough 9km off road run through Morden Park.

Ealing ladies did particularly well coming 2nd in the team event behind Clapham Chasers. First lady home for Ealing was Shona Cowper (2nd in the 30-34 age group, pictured), followed by Christine Meek (1st 55-59), Hannah Copeland (1st 40-44), Sue Dyke (1st 45-49), Isabella Di Leonardo, Estelle McLaughlin and Valentina Rozzi.

The Ealing men’s team came 10th against very strong competition with strong performances from Tunca Rodoplu, Yuu Kawachi and Tim Davies.

For many it was a first outing for the club and the performances were very encouraging and with 9 further events in the series, enthusiasm is high.

The next event in the League is the Dragonslayer Duathlon on 8th May held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park


Brighton Marathon 17th April

Ealing Triathletes at the Brighton Marathon

Ealing Triathletes were represented by 5 athletes at the 6th running of the Brighton Marathon. On a cold, but sunny day at the seaside, all 6 came home in under 4 hours, demonstrating the strength and endurance of our athletes.
First home was Keith Freegard, (3.44.30) in his first marathon, followed closely by Sarah Percival (3.44.44), Ian Carveth (3.46.09), Alexandra Hewett (3.51.22 and Dan Noraika (3.57.34).
Well done to all our runners, fantastic running!

It was a busy weekend of racing for Ealing Triathletes. Well done to Shona finishing the 16mile Lidl Breakfast run in under 2 hours; Yu for completing the Paris Marathon, Rodney at Reading HM, Keith, Gary Collings and I at the Windsor Duathlon; Billy and Tim also raced their first Sprint races of the season.
