Fareham Nomads Swimming Club was formed in 1974 in the days before Fareham had its own public swimming pool. Inspired by the lack of a home pool, the club took its name from its ‘nomadic’ existence, using various pools throughout the area for training until 1980 when Fareham Leisure Centre was first opened.
Since then, the club has grown considerably and has had a membership of as many as 250 children and young adults. We currently have around 195 swimmers, but are actively looking to increase that number.
Our mission is:
The Club is SwimMark accredited, which means it has reached the tough standards laid down by the National Governing Body (Swim England) for swimming clubs. Currently the club holds two levels of accreditation: teaching; and skills development.
We are also a registered charity.
