GDPR - Data Protection

Maxwell Swim Club Ltd has addressed the changes to UK data privacy laws which came into effect on 25 May 2018. The General Data Protection Regulation, also known as GDPR, means that you'll have more control over how your data is used. It ensures that organisations, like Maxwell Swim Club Ltd., review why they need to hold your data, how it is held and for how long, and, most importantly, how your data is protected.

In summary, as a "data controller", Maxwell Swim Club Ltd. is responsible for ensuring that members’ data is secure and processed in accordance with the law.

To reflect these changes and new obligations, we've updated our privacy notices, which tell you what personal data we collect, how it's used and your rights as an individual under the new law.

Privacy Notice - Members

In addition to our own privacy notices, there is also an obligation on the Club to confirm that there are specific privacy clauses in all contracts with third party “data processors” who collect or process members’ data on our behalf. This will include TeamUnify (who provide our club management system, their Privacy Policy can be accessed at the bottom of this page), and our Governing Body, Swim England (to whom we need to pass on swimmer/volunteer/coach name, address, date of birth, email address (or parents' email address if aged under 18). Links to their website and Privacy Policies can be found here)

Further details can be found in our Data Protection Policy
