Maxwell is a members' Swimming Club managed entirely by volunteers for the benefit of all members. Everyone involved in the running of the club gives their time freely to create opportunities for our swimmers. This means that all of your fees go directly into pool hire, coaching costs and essential expenses.  But it also means that without the dedication and commitment of all our volunteers, none of this would be possible.

Whatever your skills, interests or available time, there will be a role for you in Maxwell. Please let any of the committee know if you can help us in any way.  We are always on the look out for people to join our Committee, but we also need more regular support - particularly with the running our Open Meets, which are so important for the development of the swimmers, and to raise the funds to allow us to continue.    

Another area where you can help is by training as an Official.  There is a structured training programme for Officials, from Time Keeper right up to Meet Referee, and it is a fantastic opportunity to understand swimming a little better.  We need Officials both at our own meets, and those where we travel further afield.   For more information, please contact us. 

Before every Maxwell Open Meet, our Volunteer Co-ordinator will be asking for volunteers to fulfill a variety of roles (see table below).  We will always explain fully what is required, and if you have agreed to assist in the meet you do not have to pay for the sessions where you are helping and are welcome to attend the studio area in the interval following the session for refreshments.

Within the new online entry facility for Maxwell Open Meets there will also be a 'Job Sign Up' tab. Each session will display how many volunteers are required for each session to cover the roles below.  Everyone attending should be looking to support Maxwell at our home meets as a well run meet attracts returning clubs.

The definitions for the roles below are not exhaustive, merely designed to offer an idea of what is involved for new volunteers.
