About Us
Northampton Swimming Club is a not-for-profit organisation that provides swimming opportunities for the Northampton community and surrounding towns and villages. We have a learn to swim programme as well as development, competitive and masters swimming squads and aim to create a positive learning environment whereby swimmers can achieve at all levels and reach their potential
Learn to Swim
We have a learn to swim programme that focusses on the development of water safety and water confidence for non-swimmers upwards.
Development Squads
Our development squads teach swimmers the basics of competitive swimming skills progressing the skills that have been learned in our teaching programme. From here swimmers have the opportunity to take part in development galas and team competitions when they are old enough.
Competitive Program
Moving into our competitive programme we have a structure that caters for swimmers at a wide range of levels from county level to international medallists. Each year we take part in county, regional and national competitions both in the pool and open water.
Masters Swimming
We have a thriving master’s squad where we have swimmers still swimming in their 70s! We are an inclusive club that promotes swimming and para swimming proving that clubs can combine the 2 disciplines at the highest levels.
Our Achievements
In recent years we have had swimmers represent Great Britain on the international stage winning medals at the European and World Championships, Commonwealth Games and Paralympic Games.
Our Philosophy
We aim to create a positive learning environment whereby swimmers can achieve at all levels and reach their potential. We encourage people to swim by promoting the social, physical, and psychological benefits of sport. Many of our members go on to become qualified teachers, coaches and officials giving back to their sport.
