Cover Coach Vacancy (Level 2)

Norwich Swan Swimming Club are looking for a Level 2 part time coach to join our existing experienced coaching team for ad-hoc cover when our main coaching team are away at galas, on holiday etc.  

We are a vibrant and fast growing competitive club consistently producing County, Regional & National level medallists.  Our team recently finished in the top 5 of East Midlands Arena League Division 1 and we will be fielding two teams this season. We have around 450 swimmers in squads, and a thriving Learn to Swim programme with 900+members. We pride ourselves on excellent links with other clubs in Norfolk and the surrounding areas.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate:  We are looking for a team player with enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills who can build a good rapport with the Swimmers, able and willing to step in at short notice to deliver a high quality session. This role may suit a uni student who has their own transport or someone looking to return to coaching or to supplement other work.

We can provide mentoring and development opportunities for the right candidate, your personal qualities, commitment and desire to learn are the most important attributes.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about swimming, open to change and willing to try new approaches to develop their coaching skills. You should also be a self starter who is capable of working independently. Former competitive swimming experience would be an advantage.

You will have opportunities to coach both Age group and Youth squads at pools in and around Norwich

• Swim England Swimming Coach Level 2 Coaching Swimming or equivalent qualification

• Locations at pools in Norwich 

• Zero hours but with coaching timetables published 4 weeks in advance and an opportunity to pick up some hours in the evenings but mostly at the weekends.

• Pay rate: £17.30/hr for Level 2 coach on a self employed basis, with a permit to work in the UK.

• Applicants are expected to have a current Rescue Test (or NPLQ) qualification, a Swim England recognised Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate, and will be subject to a DBS check.

• Excellent communication skills are needed as you will be covering sessions for other members of the coaching team.
