Club Sprints

Club Sprints takes place in the summer and consists of 50m (2 lengths) timed swims for each of the four strokes and 100m Individual Medley.

Everyone who is in the Club and is registered with the ASA are encouraged to enter as it is a great opportunity to get a time for a swim. The entry is covered within the Annual Membership Fee.

Swimmers can enter a race they’ve never done before and get a time for it. This will give the swimmer a licensed time ready for entry to an Open Meet.

Once a time has been recorded, the goal is to better that time and get a new personal best (PB). In all swimming competitions, including the Club Competitions, swimmers are grouped into heats by ability, not age, so you may be swimming against someone much taller or older. However, when the results are issued they will be by the age groups as published for the competition. The younger and older age groups are often grouped together so may start at "10 and under" and end at "16 and over", you need to check the conditions of each competition for the specific details.

It is important to get times recorded with the ASA to then start swimming at Open Meets.
