Competition 1

Swimmers will be expected to swim 6 - 8 sessions a week, train in the mornings, and take part in land training. This squad aims to develop racing performance and optimise physical development through key adolescent development phases.

Commitment

Swimmers should be swimming 6 - 8 sessions a week, and take more responiblity for thier own training.  They should be taking part in the clubs own competitions, and various open meets to gain racing experience and to keep improving their swimming times.  The minimum attendance requirement is 5 sessions.  Swimmers should be aim to swim 10 hours a week. 

Parents Commitment

Our club runs becasue of voluteers, and we would ask that you think about voluteering.  This could be on pool assisting, training as a timekeeper, judge, offical.  You will also be asked to help at open meets that we as a club arrange and in which your child is competing.  

Progression

Swimmers can progress to either Stay in Comp1 move up to  Squad or Challengers from this squad.  Children develop at different speeds, the coaches decide which squad  progression is to.  They will consider age, skill level, coachability, progression and current ability.  There are different pathways through the club and we want to find the best one for each child.
