Stroke Technique 3

Swimmers will have been swimming 2-3 hours a week, come in from ST2 or another club where they have been swimming a simiular number of hours a week.  They will be intrested in competitive swimming and will be looking to generally improve thier swimming. 

This squad aims to develop the swimmers understanding of training, building up training distances whilist maintaining a focus on to focus developing force, stroke length, efficiency, balance, co-ordination, feel, sculling, speed, starts, turns and finishes. Skills required for lifelong particpation in aquaitc sport.

Members of this squad are introduced to basic land training with core statbility as a focus for 30mins a week.

Commitment

There is no minimum attendance requirment, however we do encourage swimmers to attend as much as possible.  In this squad swimmers are encouraged to compete regulary at both our internal competitions and level 3 open meets.  Swimmers in this squad will be looking to be swimming very near to county qualifying times, and qualifying regulary for county championships.

Parents Commitment

Our club runs becasue of voluteers, and we would ask that you think about voluteering.  This could be on pool assisting, training as a timekeeper, judge, offical.  You will also be asked to help at open meets that we as a club arrange. 

Progression

Swimmers can progress to either Challengers or Comp 2 from this squad.  Children develop at different speeds, the coaches decide which squad  progression is to.  They will consider age, skill level, coachability, progression and current ability.  There are different pathways through the club and we want to find the best one for each child.
