Our aim is to encourage life long participation in aquatic sports.  Sessions are fun and engaging.

Levels

Academy 2 - Our entry level squad gives swimmers a good footing, understanding and feel of what it's like being part of a swimming club.

Criteria - Children will be able to swim 20m in 2 strokes and understand the basics of all 4 strokes.   LTS & speed badges progression available.

Academy 3 - Focusing on skill development: force, stroke length, efficiency, balance, co-ordination, feel, sculling, speed, starts, turns & finishes. 

Criteria - It is possible to join this squad directly from a swim school, our coaches will consider age, progression and current ability.    

Performance DevelopmentBuilding up training distances, this squad introduces basic land training with core stability for 30mins a week. 

Criteria - Swimming near to county qualifying times. Swimmers compete regulary at our internal competitions and level 3 open meets. 

Junior Club - For childern and young adults develop their swimming and aquatic skills in a less competitive way. 

Criteria - There is no minimum attendance requirement, opportunity to swim in the club championships once a year.

Performance 3 - Developing skills to take ownership for training; run sets off the pace clock, check stroke counts, times and heart rates. 

Criteria - Swimmers will be expected to swim 6 sessions a week, train in the mornings, and take part in land training. 

Performance 2 - Developing race performance & optimising physical development through key adolescent development phases.   

Criteria - The minimum attendance requirement is 5 sessions, swimmers will be expected to swim approx 10 hours a week.

Performance 1 - Developing race performance & the Optimal Athlete Development Framework.  45 mins land training & 14 hours swim a week. 

Criteria - Swimmers compete fully on the competition program, county, regional, national championships, level 1 meets, & should be very close to getting qualifying times for national ( Wales, England, Scottish) and British Swimming events. 

Speed - A technically focused squad with peer to peer coaching, developing knowledge, awareness and a team orientated approach.
