Registration For Gift Aid Donation of Membership
Boost Our Income
We can reclaim gift aid on your annual membership fee which means we get an extra 25% from the Inland Revenue. This means that £60 can be turned into £75.
All the detail about needing to be a donation and paying sufficient tax is in the conditions section below this anyway. If you have any further questions about Gift Aid, please contact [email protected].
Conditions
In order to Gift Aid your membership fees you need to be the named account holder and make the payments. You must pay an amount of Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that Wycombe District Swimming Club reclaims on your donations in the tax year (currently £15 for the £60 you give).
You cannot claim Gift Aid on a subscription payment paid on behalf of someone else. This is because it’s considered a gift to the person whose membership you pay, not to the charity. However, if you pay for the membership of the club for a child (under the age of 18), this can be accepted as a gift.
Gift Aid is only claimed on the fee that pays for the administration of the club and is not claimable on training fees, Swim England Fees or other payments to the club.
If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief ask your local tax office for leaflet IR 65.
This form is for Membership charges during the Tax Year 6th April 2023 to 5th April 2024
Cancellation
You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying Wycombe District Swimming Club. If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains equal to the tax that the charity reclaims, you can cancel your declaration.
