Success at Swim England Masters' Nationals The last weekend of the half term break brings the Masters' Season to a close with the SE Masters National Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Seven Masters took part and the statistics speak for themselves: Personal bests - 29 out of the 39 individual swims were PBs, many of which were lifetime bests. WDSC Dominate at South Berks & Buckinghamshire Masters County Championships On Sunday 16th September 24 WDSC Masters competed at the Berks and South Bucks Seniors and Masters County Championships in Maidenhead. For some it was their first time swimming as a Senior with the Masters, and they all seemed to enjoy the experience - a big shout out to Lara Reed, Connor Lewis and Alex Ahern for braving it! 10 WDSC Masters headed for the beautiful country of Slovenia for the European Aquatics Championships Championship, which took place in the outdoor pool in Kranj, and at Lake Bled, between 1st and 9th September. This is the first time in the club’s history that so many of our masters have been to such a large international championship; taking part in 32 individual events and 3 relays. Lena ETU Champion WDSC Master Lena Poulton won GOLD at the ETU Sprint Triathlon Championships at the Strathclyde Country Park last Saturday in the F45-49 age-group. Exiting first out of the water, Lena was untouchable on the bike and run, storming to an impressive victory. The course is a real favourite with the elites and it was easy to see why; the very un-Scottish weather was also a bonus. Dear Members We are pleased to announce that Jordan Welch will become the Lead Junior Coach on 30th July, when he starts on a full time basis with us. In this role, Jordan will lead the Junior Competitive Squad and the Potential Two Squad. Wycombe District Swimming Club are pleased to announce that Oliver Brewer will join the club as our 3rd full time coach, starting in June. Oliver completed his UKCC Level 2 in 2011 and over the last 3 years he has been studying a for a degree in “BSc Sports Coaching” at Loughborough University. Whilst studying for his degree Oliver was also balancing his own swimming training within the Loughborough University Performance Squads. His highest achievement was reaching British Championship Level when he competed at the British International meet in 2013....

Team WDSC completed our most successful County Championships ever, with a staggering medal count of 132 Medals - nearly double the amount won last year. Congratulations to all our swimmers who took part, and to those who won medals and trophies - look out for a full report soon.

It's official, work has started at the Handy X Hub site! For the last few months, enabling works have been ongoing to divert a substantial mains electricity cable and a large water main and to lower fibre optic cables alongside the A404 Marlow Road. Over the next few weeks, part of the redevelopment site will be enclosed by hoardings and construction contractors Willmott Dixon will begin to bring in plant equipment in preparation to dig the huge 50m swimming pool 'pit' and create a new access road.
