The British Masters LC Championships The British Masters LC Championships were held in Plymouth between 9-11 June 2018. Despite the event being a considerable distance for many to travel, there were many swimmers there and the competition was good. As with all masters events, the emphasis was not only on the racing (which was pretty fierce) but also on the camaraderie, the friendships and the fun - as usual this involves meeting up with old friends for meals out, and making new friends along the way too. Jane Asher, the...

Masters Triathletes smash National Championships and European Qualifier 2019 Lena Poulton took to the top step of the podium at the weekend to be crowned Triathlon England National Champion in the 45-49 age category, having been runner-up last year and winner the year before. A fantastic achievement once again, especially finishing 6thfemale overall in a field of over 200 starters. Lena wasn’t alone in bringing home some silverware as bionic Bev Childs won SILVER in 60-64, which is quite remarkable given it was only last year that she underwent a hip replacement. Sharon Hill also took SILVER in...

GB selections for WDSC Masters Triathletes The WDSC masters had a big weekend on 19/20 May. After a long hard winter, they emerged from the pool, the gym and the garage straight into key GB qualification races. The British Triathlon Federation put-on an extra qualification race on Saturday for the European Championships 2018, because the final qualifier last season had clashed with the Worlds in Rotterdam. And Sunday’s race was the first World Championships Qualifier for both 2018 and 2019. This meant back-to-back sprint races on consecutive days for Lena Poulton...

Chiltern League 2018 A development team from Wycombe District Swimming Club competed in the Chiltern League in 2018. The league consists of three competitions with a ‘no-faster than’ cut-off and it is ideal for our Development and Academy squads to take part. Our swimmers raced exceptionally well, even though for many of them it was their first experience of racing for WDSC in a team-setting. The Wycombe team was competitive in all three rounds with lots of swimmers progressing and swimming faster than the cut-off times. In the final round...
