SwimMark Club

Chairman Session Update- 22-September-2020

RSWPC Admin
Dear Members and Support,

As you are aware the Club has been working to increase our pool time in October to try and create more sessions to bring back more swimmers. Moves are in place to get more swimmers back in the coming weeks, however we are still restricted to numbers in the pool along with being unable to allow spectators and the use of the changing facilities at Radcliffe. These restrictions make it very difficult to bring some of our earlier stage swimmers back just yet. Whilst I apologise for this please be aware that this is beyond our control.

As you will also be aware the pool hire costs remain the same and with limited numbers allowed to train we have unfortunately taken the decision to implement a small but necessary increase to cover the pool hire. No member of the teaching staff, support team or any person associated with the club is paid and as such all our money is put back into the club for the benefit of the members, both swimming and waterpolo. When things improve we hope to revert back to the usual fees.

Finally, today’s announcement (22/09/2020) by the Government in respect of the rule of 6 being applied to team sports played indoors will not yet have an impact on the club as we are categorised as organised sports played indoor. We await further guidance from Swim England which we expect shortly and will provide an update as soon as we can. We are understandably concerned in respect of the sessions we are planning for October but we will obviously be taking the advice seriously and will work to ensure your continued safety.

I am sure you will agree that the work done to date has been fantastic and I would like once again to thank everyone involved.

Please keep safe and look after yourselves. If we work together we will get through this nightmare.
