COVID UPDATE- 23/07/21

RSWPC Admin
Dear Members and Supporters

You will be aware that the Government has now relaxed the rules on social distancing and mask wearing in enclosed indoor spaces etc. We have previously emailed you to let you know that the club was awaiting guidance from Swim England and Bury Leisure prior to making any decisions regarding the relaxation of our Covid rules.

I can confirm that we have now received the guidance from both parties and we have held a meeting with Coaches, Vice Chair, Covid Lead and I to determine how we as a club proceed.

Despite Bury Leisure allowing spectators on to the gallery at Castle we have decided that we will continue with the policy of no spectators whilst the numbers of Covid infections are rising at the current rate. We have taken this decision as we have duty to report any infections reported to us to ensure that those that have been in close contact are aware of the need to isolate. As you will appreciate this is almost an impossible task to undertake for the spectators. We will however be reviewing this again when the next Government advice is released regarding self isolation.

Please also wait outside the leisure centre after each session to collect your swimmer or player. Congregating within the foyer isn’t permitted at present.

Please note that due to limited space there will be no spectators at Radcliffe until Bury Leisure permit this.

I would also advise that whilst the government has determined that  masks are not mandatory we would strongly advise that our members continue to wear them when entering and leaving the centres. This is also a request of Bury Leisure.

I am sure you will appreciate that the approach we are taking to limit the spread of this virus is a sensible one and I am confident we have your support on this.

I am aware that the last 18 months has been extremely difficult for everyone and as such we are looking to get back to a new form of normality as quickly as possible and as such we are continually reviewing our procedures. I would once again like to thank you all for your support and patience during these times and look forward to hopefully getting to see you all in the near future to thank you in person.
