7th July 2022

Dear Members

Temporary Closure of Castle Pool to all Club Activities

You may have already read on Social Media that Bury Leisure have had to take the decision to close the Swimming Pool to all activities except Local Authority Swimming Lessons due to a national shortage of Sodium Hypochlorite which is used to keep the pool clean and  hygenic At present Bury Leisure cannot get a commitment from the suppliers as to when normal service  will be resumed .

As from today there will be no Club  Waterpolo  or Swimming Sessions held at Castle by the Club until further notice. We are keeping in touch with our Partners at Bury Leisure and will provide an update as soon as we have further information.

I have asked our Waterpolo Coaches to review the possibility of obtaining pool time at other venues in the short term and requested that they return back to the Committee as soon as possible should a viable option be identified.

Our sessions at the Radcliffe Pool are unaffected as a different system is in place which uses different chemicals.

Please be assured that we are working hard to ensure that we can accommodate all our members where possible. As you will  appreciate  we were only informed of the situation yesterday along with the other clubs that use the facility and as such we will need some time to review our options.

I would like to thank you for your patience whilst we assess the situation.

Regards

Chris Lord

Chair

Radcliffe Swimming and Waterpolo Club.
