The Club Shrimps & Championships will revert to the old format for 2023; Shrimps and Championships will be held over 2 Saturdays within Oct/Nov.

            Shrimps- Saturday 28th October 2023

            Championships- Saturday 4th November 2023

Time: 17.00-19.00 (Event Registration 16:30-16:45, Warmup 17:00-17:15, Prompt start at 17:15 )

 

Who Can Enter? 

Eligibility for Shrimps Gala

To qualify to enter the Shrimps Gala a swimmer must be a fully paid up member. 

Eligibility for Club Championships

To qualify to enter the Club Championships a swimmer must 

  1. have been a member for a period of at least 3 calendar months
  2. attended a club teaching/coaching session on average at least once per week, excluding holidays, injury or illness periods, over those 3 months
  3. have been prepared, where possible, to represent the Club in team events

Deadline for Applications

Applications must be received by;

Sunday 8th October 2023

 

Entry into the competition is: 

Shrimps- £5

Championships- £10

 

Payment displayed at the bottom of the form is to be paid in CASH on the night.

Information

 

Shrimps Gala

Presentations

All competitors will be presented with ribbons for competing in the gala.

Medals will be presented to swimmers finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each event and ribbons will be presented to swimmers finishing 4th, 5th and 6th.

The overall 11 year old boy and 11 year old girl will be presented with the Bury Metropolitan Sports Council Cups. The points system will be 7pts for first place, 6pts for second place, 5pts for third place, 4pts for fourth place, 3pts for fifth place, 2pts for sixth and 1pt for all other entrants. 

Please note some age groups may be combined to one event due to the number of entries, awards will still be offered by age group as normal.

 

Club Championship            

Presentations

There will be centenary trophies for the top male and female swimmers in the 12 years and under and the 14 years and under.

These trophies will be based upon a points system

7pts for first place, 6pts for second, 5pts for third, 4pts for fourth, 3pts for fifth, 2pts for a sixth and 1pt for every other finisher.

The Tootill Trophy will be presented to the top open competitor, male or female based upon the eight open events. 3 pts are given for a first place, 2pts for a second place and 1pt for a third place

(This is only applicable for Club Championship Events and assistance)
