PREGULLS
Participants in the Pregulls squads are taught the basic mechanics of all strokes, and the fundamentals of competitive swimming, including the further development and perfection of strokes. Swimmers will learn through structured teaching and through fun and games.
The basic mechanics of all strokes will be developed. Forwards, backwards and log rolls will be performed to help towards turn mechanics. Basic diving technique will be established.
Swimmers will progressively develop stroke, turn and dive mechanics and complete Stage 7 of the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming.
Squad Entrance Criteria
PREGULLS A: The typical age of swimmers in this squad are between 5 and 9 years of age. Swimmers must attend a trial and be the equivalent of Stage 4-5 of the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming.
PREGULLS B: The typical age of swimmers in this squad are between 5 and 9 years of age. Swimmers must attend a trial and be the equivalent of Stage 6 of the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming.
Squad Aim
By the end of Pregulls swimmers will want to be able to:

Swim 50m of efficient technique in Front Crawl, Back Crawl, Breast-stroke and 25m Butterfly.

Demonstrate a forward, backward and log roll.

Demonstrate a basic dive.

Demonstrate underwater push, glide and dolphin kicks on the front and back.

Progression
Swimmers will progress into the Seagulls Development Squad.
