SEAGULLS HEADING TO NATIONALS

Seagull’s swimming club have had an amazing 4 swimmers qualify for the Swim England winter short course national championships which is being held at one of most famous racing venues in the country ponds forge in Sheffield.

With a high number of qualifiers to the event the pool will be split into 2 x 25m pools in which the Male athletes will race scoreboard end and Female athletes diving pit end. Top 10 athletes from the heats will make the evenings finals and top 10 Juniors (16/U) will make the junior final.

Isaac Ellis

 

Isaac Competing at his first short course national championships will be competing in the Open section of the championships in 3 events one on each day

50m Freestyle / 100m Freestyle / 200m Freestyle

Isaac having qualified from his impressive racing back in 2019 when he raced at the Swim Wales short course nationals will be looking to carry on the progression from the start of the season and break his PBs

 

Sonny Chamberlain – Hyde

 

Sonny qualifying for his 2nd Swim England winter championships qualified with an impressive 9 events spanning from 50m races to 1500m. Sonny qualified for:

50m Backstroke / 100m Backstroke / 200m Backstroke

100m IM / 200 IM / 400 IM

50 Fly & 1500 FC

Scaling down the schedule to his main events Sonny targets to further his personal bests that have already been broken this season.

 

Emily Mcwilliam

 

Emily also qualifying for her first winter nationals has qualified for 3 events which has worked out 1 on each day. Her events over the 3 days are:

200m Freestyle / 400m Freestyle / 800m Freestyle

Emily looking to take on the progression made this season along to race hard, enjoy the experience and apply all skills worked on through early meets into the season.

 

Lawrence Elliott

 

Lawrence having made a massive improvement in his racing and dropping times massively in the past 12 months to qualify for his first ever national competition. A massive achievement for Lawrence he has been able to qualify for 5 events:

50m Breastroke / 200m Fly

100 IM / 200 IM / 400 IM

He will be looking to carry on the great progression and enjoy his first national experience.
