What is Emerald Squad?
Swimmers in our Emerald Squad are here to begin their career into the realm of competition. Within this stage swimmers are beginning to improve techniques of their strokes in order to swim not just well, but fast. Building on their skills from Stages 1 through 10, swimmers are learning to utilise competition specific techniques. These include: Legal Turns; Competitive Starts; Swimming Terminology; Racing Laws and Drills.
Emerald Squad Goals
To aim for Essex County Times over 50m Events
To be able to continuously swim 1500m using 1 stroke
To be able to complete a timed set
To build Endurance, Strength and Skills appropriate to swimming
To begin to understand the Scientific side of Sport (e.g. Proper Nutrition)
To understand the need for setting goals and promoting a positive mentality
To develop values for all walks of life, such as; Perserverance and Commitment, Respect, Self-Respect, Focus, Sportsmanship and Sacrifice
Emerald Squad Size
20 Swimmers
Sessions per Week (Under Current Restrictions)
Up to 2 sessions, with a minimum of 2, 60 - 90 Minutes Each
Age Range (Guidelines)
7 - 13 Years Old
Monthly Squad Fees
£32.25 per month
Minimum Requirements to Enter Emerald Squad
Swimmers must have shown subjective qualities required by the Coach, such as, dedication and respect
