Transitioning from our Academy, our swimmers move into the Junior Squad. Starting in the Junior Development squad they further develop key skills through the 'Learning to Train' stage of the Support Pathway. Swimmers begin to experience basic aerobic training at this stage, which is then further developed and becomes more intensive. As they move up the Junior Squad to County Development and Junior County level, swimmers further develop a range of specific regimes and drills whilst increasing fitness levels. As swimmers move higher up in the Junior Squad, they transition from the 'Training to Train' stage moving into the 'Training to Compete' stage at Senior squad level.

BDSC Masters is a friendly swimming squad for adults. Its membership covers a wide range of abilities from the casual swimmer to the more competitive swimmer. Most of our members joined because they either swum in the past, or were swimming at local public sessions. A "Masters Swimmer" is just a swimmer in the age range 18 to 80+. Many of our Masters don't have to compete, however, if you want to join in we compete at Inter Club Galas, Open meets and Regional and National Masters Championships.
