


The Oxfordshire and North Buckinghamshire (ONB) Amateur Swimming Association is the County Bletchley & District Swimming Club is geographically located within and affiliated to. The County is made up of elected Officers, representatives from each club, plus members of associations and bodies affiliated to Swim England. ONB ASA promotes, develops and supports all forms of swimming activities including speed swimming, artistic swimming, water polo, open water swimming and diving.

The SouthEast Amateur Swimming Association is the Region made up of the 7 Counties of Berkshire & South Buckinghamshire ASA, Hampshire ASA, Kent ASA, Oxfordshire & North Buckingham ASA (that's us), Surrey ASA, and Sussex ASA. The Region is make up of elected Officers, representatives from each county, plus members of associations and bodies affiliated to Swim England. The SouthEast Region promotes, develops and supports all forms of swimming activities including speed swimming, artistic swimming, water polo, open water swimming and diving.

Swim England is the national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water swimming, and synchronised swimming in England. It forms part of British Swimming, a federation of the national governing bodies of England, Scotland, and Wales.

FINA is the international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee for administering international competitions in water sports. It is one of several international federations which administer a given sport or discipline for both the IOC and the international community.

Formerly called swim21, SwimMark accreditation is SwimEngland's quality standard for clubs. It recognises high standards of governance, sustainability and effectiveness. Any affiliated Swim England club can apply for the accreditation, regardless of any club size or the disciplines delivered.

Part of Swim England, the Institute of Swimming (IoS) is a swimming educational organisation. It supplies the main training for Swim England, formerly the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). Swimming schools and coaches can be registered with the organisation so long as they have adequate coaching qualifications. This register is available to the public searching for qualified swimming instructors. In this respect it is similar to a Trade Asscoaition for swimming teachers. Comprehensive insurance is provided as part of membership.

The aim of Wavepower is to safeguard all children in line with current legislation, regulations and guidance and is for use within any Swim England affiliated organisation where children are present.
