Summer may seem a long way away this week, but just a few short weeks ago two Newbury swimmers took part in the National Swimming Championships. Kaleb Fox-Jones competed in the 50m backstroke, finishing fifth overall after recording personal bests in the heats and the final, where he dipped under 30 seconds with a time of 29.88. Freya Barlow qualified for both the 100m and 200m backstroke events. In the 100m she qualified for the finals with a heat time of 1:09.36 and finished in ninth place overall – just a year...


Good luck to Freya and Kaleb as they begin their Nationals campaign today. You can watch them compete live on the Swim England YouTube site. Kaleb takes part in the 50m back today, while Freya has the 100m back tomorrow and the 200m back on Saturday. You can keep up with the results here - Good luck from everyone at Newbury!

Well done to all of the Newbury swimmers who recently took part in the regional championships. A report is in the current edition of the Newbury Weekly News. You can also find it on their website, here -  


Congratulations to all the Newbury swimmers who took part in the regional championships over the last two weekends. A full report will follow after the final weekend on 26/27th May. However a particular mention needs to be made for Freya Barlow who won a silver medal in the Girls 14yr old age group in 100m Backstroke in a time of 1.08.58 - with nearly a 1 second PB. A massive achievement, so a huge well done to Freya.


Well done to all of the Newbury swimmers who have qualified for the South East Regional Championships this month. Ellis Dixon will compete in the  Youth  Championships at  Wycombe Leisure Centre this weekend. Freya Barlow, Kaleb Fox-Jones, Livvy  Bevan, Jamie Leach, Abbie Holland, Max Maleham, Laura Nowell, Eloise Wade and Can Tugcetin all qualified for the age group competition. The  South East Regional Age Group Championships will take place in  Crawley on  May  12 th  & 13 th  and May 26 th  & 27 th. We wish all of the swimmers the best of luck in their...
