GB Selection for Freya Colbert Congratulations to Freya who has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia. Freya’s performances in Glasgow earned her a well-deserved place for the Championships which will be taking place in July 2019. “Freya was Nova's top performer at the British Championships and competed in no fewer than 6 different events. At the Nova Centurion Annual General Meeting Polly Holden was presented with the Nova Centurion swimmer of the year award for 2018 by Director of Coaching Nathan Hilton. This award recognised the fantastic achievements Polly secured throughout the year resulting in great successes in the pool at British Summer Championships and also at the European and World Open Water Championships. Polly has also been named recently in Swim England's 2018 2019 Performance Squad.

The 2018 Swim England Summer National Championships were hosted at Ponds Forge, Sheffield between 31st July and 4th August 2018. The top 20 English swimmers in each event outside of those that qualified for the British Summer Championships were eligible to compete in these Championships and so qualification again was something for all swimmers to be proud of. The 2018 British Summer Swimming Championships were hosted at Ponds Forge, Sheffield between 24th and 29th July 2018. Only swimmers that secured top British Ranking times during the 3 month qualifying period were eligible to compete in these Championships and so qualification alone was something for all swimmers to be proud of. On Sunday 10th June 2018 Nova Centurion swimmer Polly Holden 19yrs competed in the Great North Swim (Open Water) at Lake Windermere in the Elite Women's 5km event. Polly completed the 5000m swim in an outstanding time of 59 minutes and 51 seconds to finish in 2nd place overall and 1st in her 18/19yrs age group. This outstanding swim has resulted in Polly qualifying to represent Great Britain for the very first time in 2 different European Championships. The 2018 Nova Long Course Open Meet was again successfully held at the Harvey Hadden leisure centre, Nottingham over the weekend of 19th/20th May 2018. This years competition was more popular than ever before with the organisers having to reject a significant amount of entries to ensure the competition ran in line with the strict Level 1 licensing conditions.
