I first became involved with swimming when my eldest daughter started lessons with Blue Fins 20 years ago.

I took the poolside helpers certificate followed by my Level 1 then Level 2 Swim Teaching qualification. My oldest two children then moved to City of Oxford Swimming Club where I assisted on poolside there, then progresses to Academy Coach responsible for my own Squad whilst still continuing teaching Blue Fins lessons.

I have coached various abilities of swimmers with both Clubs, helping to develop young swimmers to County, Regional and National level. It is great to see swimmers progress knowing that I have helped shape and develop their skills.

I have had the privilege to coach/teach alongside some respected Coaches including the late Lindsay Powell who was GB Team Manager on several occasions and coached various swimmers into the GB Commonwealth and Olympic teams

Within the county, I am more known as being an Official. Having been a Timekeeper, Judge, Starter and now Referee, and am now part of the Training Team. I have been an Official at Club, County, Regional and National level and International Disability level. This has given me a stricter view of the way I coach the turns, and the skills swimmers need to progress.
