Chesham Swimming Club guidance regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The current situation we find ourselves in is unprecedented, uncertain and fast moving. We obviously want to do the right thing for our swimmers and the long-term future of our club, with safety and wellbeing as top priorities.

We’ve worked very hard and consulted widely in an effort to put in place measures that would allow us to continue to train in a safe way. However, in the current climate, taking into account the statements from Government, Swim England and other authorities the Committee has reluctantly concluded that this isn’t possible at present.

It’s difficult to foresee exactly when we’ll be able to return to normal training but we will continue to monitor the situation. Jason will be putting together some land programmes for swimmers to maintain their strength and fitness while we are away from the pool.

We expect that, in addition to national, regional and league events, all upcoming open meets will be cancelled and fees refunded.

We'll be working in the coming days to establish a sustainable way forward for the club and its employees and will update you on this soon.

I hope you'll be able to continue to support the club during this period and that we’ll be able to look back on this and say that when things got tough we were able to stand together and help each other through it.

Do please get in touch with any member of the Committee if you need any clarification or have a question.
