Years in Swimming:

"9 years of competitive swimming at Basingstoke Bluefins. Where I competed at County, Regional
and National level.
I have been teaching the ASA Learn to Swim programme for 5 years, teaching 3 to 10 years old.
Been coaching at Basingstoke Bluefins since gaining my ASA Level 1 at the age of 16. I have
experienced coaching at all levels from Development Squad to Performance Squad. I gained my
ASA level 2 coaching when I turned 18.
Basingstoke Bluefins Sharks Swim Coach for 3 years, this was the club’s disability squad. During
this time, I gained a lot of experience in coaching disability swimmers and attended the Special
Olympics at Cardiff International Pool."

Why did you get into coaching?

"I got into coaching as I have a strong passion to help develop swimmers and achieve their goals."

Background/List of achievements past and present:


ASA English Nationals 2015 for 200 Breaststroke and 400 I.M.
Working for Mel Marshall on her Easter and Summer Swim Camps.
Working on Speedo Dive In events across the UK.

Favourite Pool:

London Aquatics Centre

[I think we need to work on this with Daisy to make the Garrison her favourite place to be!]

Greatest achievement in swimming/coaching:

Making ASA English Nationals 400 I.M Final.

Having the opportunity to work and develop with ex GB swimmers Mel Marshall, Grant Turner
and Ian Hulme.

Most important piece of advice to a swimmer:

Never give up on your dreams, keep working hard in training as hard work pays off!

Other interests/hobbies:

Taking part in Tough Mudder events and running Marathons.
