About Woking Swimming Club

Founded in 1935, Woking Swimming Club is SwimMark accredited and the home of competitive swimming for Woking and the surrounding areas.

We are a friendly and thriving club with a growing membership, providing qualified swimming coaching for all abilities from the age of 3 years upwards, from our Learn to Swim groups and Academy through to our Junior and Masters squads.

Our swimmers include qualifiers and medallists at County, Regional, National and International level. The friendly yet competitive feel of the club has seen many fit and healthy athletes establish strong friendship groups, achieve personal and club goals and continues to enhance the success of the club, not only as a local one but nationally too.

Mark Staiger was appointed our Head Coach in 2017 and, under his leadership and guidance, the club is continuing its growth and progression.

Where We Swim

The club is based around our home pool at Woking Pool in the Park, with the added bonus of being able to train at Aldershot Garrison's 50m pool, Egham Orbit, Guildford High School, Pirbright, Notre Dame Convent School, Cranmore School and Reeds School.

Our Learn to Swim classes take place in purpose-built pools at Goldsworth Primary School and Horsell Junior School. Many of the teachers and assistants are current Woking swimmers who have achieved teaching qualifications whilst in these roles.

Our Open Meets

We hosted our inaugural "Octopus" Open Meet in May 2010 which runs annually and in December 2015 we also introduced a winter meet, the December Dasher.

Ambition Unlimited

With hard work and commitment from coaches and swimmers alike, we successfully develop and support swimmers in achieving their maximum potential, with unlimited scope for their ambitions.

Along with County, Regional, Zonal and National qualifiers, the club is proud to add a Commonweath Games swimmer, Olympic Tri-athlete, Paralympic Olympic and World Champions, European Junior Medalist, World Junior Finalist, Junior GB record holder, Junior GB Podium Potential Swimmer, multiple England representation at the Schools Games and England representation at the World Schools Games to its list of successes.
